The National Portrait Gallery was Founded in 1856. The purpose of this development is to promote through art the appreciation of artist in all media who have made a contribution to British history and culture.
The gallery is supported by individuals, companies, trusts, foundations and of course the government. The gallery has a rich heritage of history displayed in the exhibitions. Some of which include digital media, research and learning. Full of diversity and fame the gallery stimulates debate.
